i actually don’t think you should only donate to important causes in total silence if you’re a normal non-celebrity / super wealthy person - some of the most effective fundraising / giving to mutual aid orgs and personal funds i’ve seen take place has been when people matched their friends and acquaintances’ contributions and tried to keep a line of donations going. it’s not bragging or weird imo (as long as you’re not obnoxious about it), it really does seem to encourage people to take an active part however they can when they see others doing so
